Taking over mid-build
GMatch came to us halfway through their MVP with a development team that had run into trouble and a launch date slipping away. We took over the build, got it live, and stayed on as their product team for the next year, shipping improvements, keeping it stable, and supporting the platform as it scaled to $50K+ in monthly recurring revenue.
Inheriting someone else's half-finished app is harder than starting fresh. Before writing anything new, we audited what existed, mapped the data model, and identified what could be kept versus what needed rebuilding. From there we finished the core flows of grant discovery, matching, and application tracking, and got GMatch in front of real users. Post-launch, we ran the platform as an ongoing engagement: fixing issues as they surfaced, shipping features driven by user feedback, and refining the matching logic as the grant database grew. Staying on Bubble.io meant the client could iterate quickly and cheaply while proving the model. When revenue crossed $50K MRR, the case for a full custom stack was clear, and the platform we built gave that migration a working product, a proven data model, and a year of user learnings to start from.

Built on Bubble.io as a fully responsive web app. We audited and cleaned up the inherited build, restructured the grant database around clear eligibility fields so matching could scale, and added subscription billing and admin tooling. The data model and core logic were documented and carried directly into the custom rebuild.
