A record of internal work  /  nothing here is for sale

Things we built
to do our own work.

Every tool on this page came out of a job at Stein & Company that nothing on the market did properly. They were built for the people in this building, and this is simply the record of them.

01  —  The shop floor

We kept hitting the same wall, so we started making our own tools.

One problem each

Nothing here was scoped in a planning meeting. Each one started the third or fourth time somebody did the same tedious thing by hand.

Used before it was pretty

Every tool went into real use within a week of working at all. The ones that stuck earned the polish shown here. Several did not stick.

Kept in the building

These run on our machines against our own data. None of them are products, and none are waiting on a decision about becoming one.

01Live. Launched September 2026.

WaterBoy

WaterBoy is our own hydration app for iPhone and Mac: a tiny animated buddy who lives in a glass on your home screen, nudges you to drink, and never makes you feel bad about it. Built natively in Swift with widgets, schedule-based reminders, forgiving streaks, and private friend nudges, all with no account and no server.

HR Tracks

HR Tracks is a cloud-based HR platform that takes the guesswork out of hiring and keeps staff records, requirements, and compliance up to date. We rebuilt their V1 into a fully responsive V2 with a streamlined data structure and full audit logging. The platform has been running on our work since 2022, with ongoing maintenance ever since.

What2Watch

What2Watch.io is our own movie and TV aggregator, built to take the guesswork out of what to watch next. It blends search, social following, and shareable boards into one app. Originally launched on Bubble.io, it is currently offline while we rebuild it in native Swift, relaunching in the coming weeks with watch-along and discussion features.

Also on the bench

GMatch — pipeline view, 16:10

GMatch helps Canadian businesses find and apply for grants they would otherwise miss. We were brought in midway through a stalled MVP build, finished it, then maintained and improved the platform for over a year as it grew to $50K+ MRR. With the business proven, the client migrated to a full custom stack, using the product we stabilized as the blueprint.

Retired. Succeeded by full custom build.
Kiln — proposal editor, 16:10

Latter Day Matchmaker is a free, faith-centered dating app for Latter-day Saint singles, backed by a professional matchmaking team. We took over the project in 2022, then led a full revamp and rebrand in 2023 with verified profiles, mutual matching, and live speed dating events, delivered as a website and native iOS and Android apps. We have maintained and grown the app ever since.

Live. Maintained since 2022.
NOS: Nonprofit Operating System Screenshot

NOS is an AI-powered social media scheduler built for nonprofits. We were brought on to take the client's AI content generator and build it into a full platform: content creation, scheduling, and direct publishing to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Over 6 to 12 months of building and refining alongside the client, the product matured to the point of acquisition.

Acquired.
